You read that right - the moment we've all been waiting for is here!

Google’s Web Stories plugin is out of beta and now offers the ability to install Google Analytics on Web Stories directly in the plugin.

If you were using the beta version of the plugin, you’re all too familiar with the fact that adding Google Analytics tracking to Web Stories was not simple. It required workarounds with Google’s Site Kit plugin and Google Tag Manager, or bypassing the Web Stories plugin entirely, and manually adding the tracking scripts to hand coded web stories.

Now, there is a simple field available right in the Web Stories plugin to add your Google Analytics UA-ID code.

If you’re still using the beta version of the plugin, update it in the Plugins area of WordPress. This will bring you up-to-date and add the Editor Settings area to your Web Stories dashboard as shown above.

Once it’s installed, you should start to see data populate for your web story URLs.

Happy tracking!
